Virtual Desktops

A desktop pool is N private VMs from a desktop image. AWS, Azure and GCP all provision real VMs and broker each seat through the BeyondTrust PRA Gateway. AWS and GCP pools are Linux-only and their seats are reached over a Shell Jump; Windows seats are Azure-only and get a Remote RDP jump with credential injection. Details.

Adopt existing desktops

Bring Azure VMs you built elsewhere — an AVD session host, a persistent VDI — into a pool for visibility and Start / Stop. The dashboard writes nothing to them and never deletes them: deleting the pool only stops managing them. Scanning .

Seats —

Every seat is brokered once its VM is up — Windows seats (Azure) as a Remote RDP jump with credential injection, Linux seats as a Shell Jump on 22 with none. A dash means registration is still pending or it failed; open the pool's job for why.

Adopted VMs are not brokered through PRA by the dashboard; reach them the way you do today. Stop deallocates and disconnects anyone signed in. On an AVD session host, a host pool scaling plan or Start VM on Connect can undo a Start or Stop made here.
