RBAC
Who can use this dashboard, what they may do, and which resources they may do it to. A role is a named set of permissions you assign to a person or to a group from your identity provider; a workstream is the other axis, and decides which VMs, databases and clusters they can see at all. Feature guide.

the workload authenticates with its JWT-SVID.

Exchange it for an access token:
curl -u "$CLIENT_ID:$CLIENT_SECRET" -d grant_type=client_credentials

dashboard's SPIRE server. The join token is one-use, lasts fifteen minutes and is
not shown again.

also deletes the entry and evicts the node.

External identities
Let a workload call with an access token from your IdP instead of a secret from
this dashboard. The subject is the token's sub: Entra — the service
principal's object id; Okta — the client id; Keycloak — the client's service-account
user id. Requires workload tokens under Settings → Single sign-on.

SPIFFE trust domains
Trust a SPIRE trust domain's JWT-SVIDs as OAuth client assertions. Prefer a
JWKS URL (SPIRE's OIDC Discovery Provider /keys) — it stays
current as SPIRE rotates keys. A pasted bundle
(spire-server bundle show -format spiffe) works anywhere but needs
re-capturing after a rotation; a SPIRE lab can capture its own from the Workload Lab page.

Map groups from your identity provider onto dashboard workstreams, a permission set and an access role. Members of a mapped group are provisioned automatically on first login — no manual user creation needed. Set up single sign-on.

Add Group Mapping
How it works
- Users sign in with single sign-on on the login page — Sign in with Microsoft or your OIDC provider's button.
- The groups (or app roles) in their token are checked against this table.
- Matching users are auto-created and given each matched mapping's role, workstream and extra permissions.
- If a user is in multiple mapped groups they receive all matching workstreams.
- Workstream, permission and role assignments are re-synced from the provider on every login.
Required App Registration setup
- Token configuration → Add groups claim → Security groups
- API permissions → Microsoft Graph → Delegated:
openid,profile,email
Assign a role instead of ticking permissions one by one. Editing a role changes it for everyone who holds it — immediately for users, and at next sign-in for members of a mapped group, whose permissions are rebuilt from their groups each time they log in.

A workstream is the other half of access control: the permission tabs decide what someone may do, and a workstream decides which VMs, databases and clusters they may do it to. Each cloud resource is tagged with its workstream, and a user sees only the ones they are assigned to. Administrators see everything. Feature guide.

Deploy defaults — what this workstream's cloud VMs get unless the deploy form changes it
Anyone in this workstream can change these. They hold no secrets; an SSH key or PRA credential for a workstream is set by an administrator.
Bound secrets — set by an administrator; names only, never values
A deploy into this workstream that names no SSH key secret or PRA credential uses these. While one is bound, only an administrator can choose a different one.
The bt_client_secret override this workstream's jumps are provisioned with.

Post-deploy runs — run on every VM deployed into this workstream
Queued in this order a few minutes after a cloud VM deploys, as ordinary Config-Management jobs. A deploy can skip them.
None.
Password Safe attributes — set on every system this workstream onboards
Applied when a VM deployed into this workstream is onboarded into Password Safe, and swapped when a VM is reassigned. Write a Smart Rule on them to make Password Safe access follow the workstream.
None.
Saving will create it in the Password Safe tenant, on this workstream's oldest onboarded system. Without this box ticked, an unknown one is refused.
Systems onboarded before these were set do not carry them yet. Apply them to the systems this workstream's resources match, 50 at a time.
Network defaults — what its deploy forms start from, per region
Save one from a cloud's deploy form, next to the subnet. It fills the subnet and security groups when this workstream deploys to that region, unless you pick others.
None.
